My Students

Our school has been successfully blending both hybrid and virtual learning - about 300 students in each cohort. An essential element of a Montessori education is community. Students and teachers, along with specialists and support personnel work, together to form a tightknit community in both the classroom and as a school. SEL lessons are incorporated in morning meetings and supplemented by all the staff. It has been a smooth transition for our students to wear their masks all the time - as a community we work together to keep each other healthy and safe.

My Project

Some of our remote learning students are struggling to feel connected to the school community. Having access to a fun, engaging social emotional learning online program that can be accessed with the school counselor will provide a pathway to increasing their sense of belonging and importance to First State Montessori.

Using the Centervention online program will be an effective tool for social emotional learning and will also contribute to the relationship building with the school counselor

Studies show that students with genuine relationships in the school setting and feelings of importance contribute to their academic success.
