Fourth Grade is a big year for kids! My students are growing into adolescents with more responsibilities at school and at home. They are figuring out who they are as individuals. These kids are learning what works for them and what does not.
In order for these things to happen, I make sure that my students all feel safe, loved, and heard.
Our classroom community is fun, inclusive, and full of laughter- all while we learn about fractions, California History, and Energy, and become expert readers and authors.
My Project
We will use these wobble stools and cushions daily as a way to help us focus, gain better posture and core strength, and get our wiggles out! If you've ever been in a traditional classroom, you've probably seen kids leaning back on two legs (or even one leg!) of their chair, about to fall off. Using these stools and cushions will allow us to safely wobble while we work.
Kids love to wiggle and move while they work!
Using these stools and cushions in our classroom will help create a more focused learning environment, while teaching students how to manage the use of these flexible seating options. Together, we'll create a rotation for who gets each stool or cushion. This will help promote leadership and collaboration skills in my students, skills that they can use forever!
