My Students

I have a wide variety of students, ages ranging from 8-11 and skills ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade.

Our students are inquisitive, kind and helpful - they respond well to multi-sensory learning materials, collaboration and movement-based strategies.

Their learning disabilities qualified them to be in a small class, all day, every day; with specialized, small group instruction. We strive to keep their needs met with engaging technology, small group instruction and lots and lots of reading practice throughout all disciplines!

My Project

My students need engaging and skill-appropriate books to learn about history and living things in their world. We start each morning reading a Magic Tree House book. These books follow familiar characters into unfamiliar places and time periods. They are a fabulous introduction to important people, places and historical events. This next set of 25 books will keep our reading momentum going!

I'm always looking for new ways to support my students in nonfiction learning.

The animal magazines help them understand a variety of animal's habitat, behavior and place in the world through engaging photos and accessible text. These will also serve as an introduction to a variety of animals for students working on their animal reports every year.
