This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom services students from all walks of life. Many of my students will enjoy reading, if given access to good books. Their reading levels vary and I want every student to be given an opportunity to open a book and be able to read it . It is important to me to have the tools they need in order for them to be successful. For many, school is their haven.

Home situations are not ideal for some and school is the one constant in their lives.

Books truly are a luxury to some.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will give the students in my classroom access to books. It is so important to get our students reading and with a classroom library every student will have the opportunity. I want to give them every opportunity possible to grow as a student. Having a classroom library will allow them the ease of getting those books with out leaving the classroom. This classroom library will have varied leveled books so each student will be able to find a book that interests them. A school library can be a bit overwhelming to some so creating this classroom library will ease them into the wonderful world of a school or local library.
