I teach in a Title I school, where more than 50% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. My classroom is designed as a developmental kindergarten. My students have wide range of skill levels: some students are learning to read, while other students are learning to feed themselves.
I am privileged to teach 8 of the most amazing kindergarten students!
Each student has unique interests and a zest for learning new information. Everyday, I am challenged to find new and innovative ways to meet their unique learning styles and provide hands-on, engaging tasks. Each day is a new adventure to learn something new.
My Project
Providing engaging learning materials for active students can often be a challenging task in a world dominated by technology. All children do not learn in the same manner. As educators , it is our job to find new and exciting ways to meet the needs of our 21st century learners.
Using the requested materials, I can build these interactive learning binders to assist students in their day to day learning.
Kindergarten students come to school with many different experiences, background knowledge and unique gifts and talents. Interactive learning binders provide children with hands-on opportunities to learn kindergarten standards and essential, developmentally appropriate skills. The interactive learning activities allow students to practice skills already taught to foster confidence and independence. Each of the interactive learning binders highlights skills, such as patterns, counting, number identification, letter identification and matching skills. Giving students the ability to manipulate the materials further engages their minds and motivates them to want to learn more!
