My Students

The challenge my students face is not having adequate access to technology.

My students are a group of smart, funny and lovable kindergarteners.

Computer time is one of their favorite activities. They are scheduled for weekly visits to our computer lab, but just as they get into an activity our time runs out. Our school is located in a low income area of South Los Angeles. We are a Title I school because 90 to 100% of our students qualify for the free lunch program.

My Project

I have requested 2 Coby Kyros tablets and chairs so that my students can use them during Independent Work Time as part of a center activity. They will be able to work on alphabet and sound recognition, reading fluency, and word blending. Being able to get valuable extra time using technology to sharpen their skills would be AMAZING.

You donations towards this request will make a difference by helping my students to strengthen their literacy skills as well as their self confidence by the immediate feedback they'll receive by using this technology.
