Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are an incredible mix of diversity of students with many gifts and talents. "Gifted students represent a vital resource that has unlimited potential. We need to make sure that these exceptional young people have the support and services they need to be successful"(Chuck Grassley). For this reason, I am inspired and motivated. We are an international sensation that most teachers only dream of having in their class. We are from Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Mexico, and Japan.
My students thrive with rich engaging books that appeal to their interest.
They would love the opportunity to learn about economics. We absolutely enjoy exploring economics by discussing real-world challenges and problem-solving. This is a great way for the students to learn to about supply and demand.
My Project
These books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I desire to create. Our classroom library is a space that my students enjoy. We read together, nest in our learning space, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is housed in our library is treated with love and respect.
I would like for my like-minded gifted learners to have an opportunity to read and discuss economic books that will lead to an innovative product for our school's Shark Tank.
Surrounded by like-minded peers, they understand the difficulties faced by the gifted population. In our class, they feel like they belong, that they aren't different than their peers. They are a part of a community that understands and embraces them. All of these books have been chosen with my students have this in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them lead up to their big innovative project to be presented to our school's Shark Tank.
