These students are in 6th grade and go to a Title I school. The entire school receives free lunch, and most of the families come from inner-city backgrounds.
Being a Title I school, funding for materials can be very limited, so I want to be able to provide my team with the best resources to help them reach their full potential.
These students work hard and are extremely motivated. I want them to feel successful in how they are performing.
My Project
Money has been a little tight at our school where they had to take back all the individual printers in each of our classrooms this year. I am hoping to get the support from others to help pay for a printer in the classroom. I want to be able to print out student projects and work in the classroom so we can display it in the hallways for all to see!
My students are also in need of dry erase markers!
Lately in class I have been letting my students show their math work on their desks during my class. This has helped my students become fully engaged in my class. This makes it easy for them to show their work and be creative while doing it! I can't tell you how much this has helped in the classroom, especially with my inclusion students as well as "challenging" students.
