Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a low-income school with the most amazing students! My students are as diverse as they are intelligent. I have students who are new to our country, students who don't speak English at home, students who only speak English and students who are gifted and talented.
We are a classroom that celebrates our diversity and our differences.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners who have very little English support outside of school. My goal is to make every student successful in whatever they set their minds to.
My Project
I would like to have center activities that are prepared and already made. This will save me time and allow me to spend more time with other classroom activities.
The activities that I have chosen are activities that my fellow teachers have purchased and use daily in their classrooms.
The center activities will allow my students the ability to have fun and engaging practice for both ELA and math.
I believe that practice is the key to perfection. While the students are engaged in centers, I will be able to work with small groups of students to further reinforce their learning.
