Help me give my students engaging chapter books for those of them who are beginning to read lengthier books independently with books from the Branches series that are engaging books with dynamic characters.
My students are a group of kind, spirited, and passionate learners. They love collaborating with one another and learning new things together. They love gaining knowledge through books, videos, articles, and online resources. They love to feel connected to their learning. My students love to participate in hands-on activities. They also love to write and learn new strategies in math.
In addition, my students love to read.
Some of them are still looking for books and characters to invest in and care about. My students need books that they can picture themselves inside of. They are hungry for adventure.
My Project
My students have been requesting these Branches series books! My classroom library needs more engaging, short, yet dynamic chapter books for students in my classroom who are still building their reading stamina. The books from the Branches series have manageable chapters. Children who are reading them are able to set goals, and attain them. These books also contain dynamic characters who the children can relate to and care about. Students learn real-world lessons from these stories that they can apply to their everyday lives, both inside and outside of school. I have a few books from the Branches series in my classroom, but my students are requesting more. Some of my reluctant readers are the ones requesting to read them. I need to give them the opportunity to fall in love with a series. It is so special when that happens.
