My Students
I am a first grade teacher in a low income school in Ansonia, CT. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My classroom is full of 25 active, enthusiastic learners striving to become better readers, and writers! I strive to make my classroom a safe and enjoyable "home" for my firsties. I believe that a child's emotional growth and well-being is just as important- sometimes more- than academic growth. In my room we love reading, playing, learning, and making friends.
My Project
These materials will get my students excited about reading! Having new engaging centers for my student will allow students to have a variety of games to play. My students love working together to learn. With engaging centers I will be able to hold my students interest and develop reading skills. Students will be focused and allow for me to take small groups and not give to many directions for students to achieve the goal of the center. These materials will make a world of difference in my guided reading groups and center rotations. My students would be thrilled to have a variety of options for games during center rotations.
