Students in my English-Language Arts classes are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend our small high school in our extremely rural county. While many of my students face significant challenges, they attend our school to accelerate their learning, participate in experiential learning and achieve their academic goals.
My students' diverse backgrounds and experiences enrich our academic environment as they come together to prepare for their futures.
In English-Language Arts, students are interacting with a variety of challenging texts and creating their own pieces of writing. By feeding them with rich learning experiences surrounding literacy, you will empower them to address the problems our world faces today.
My Project
It's hard to enjoy reading if there aren't enough interesting books. These fiction and non-fiction books will engage my high school students by adding a large selection of refreshing titles to our very small library.
It will enrich their experiences with reading by exposing them to other peoples' stories and points of view.
This project includes fascinating adventures, sophisticated graphic novels, horrifying historical tragedies, classic literature, contemporary novels, and more.
Giving books to students offers valuable perspectives, which is especially important in a community that is as remote as ours. It also encourages our students to enjoy learning and make reading a lifelong habit.
