Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 8th graders are the best students in the Bronx! They represent a multicultural community of diverse learners.
My students are hard-working, engaged, eager and strong learners.
There is nothing they won't try! Many are gifted and talented and my goal is to keep them challenged.
A portion of my students are preparing to take the High School Common Core Algebra Regents while they're still in 8th grade! This would allow them to skip into advanced classes once they get to High School.
My Project
These items will make a huge difference in our learning because every student will be able to create an interactive notebook, which they will use daily to learn Algebra and Geometry. Interactive notebooks teach children how to take notes, how to study from them, all while making them interesting, fun and colorful!
Additionally, the other classroom supplies will enable us to play great games in class.
We use dry erase boards and markers to work collaboratively to solve problems in friendly competition style, or just as a group to extend our learning.
We also work on projects frequently throughout the year to deepen our understanding of the content and enable kids to engage in a different way with the concepts. Students will use these supplies for those projects.
