Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative young people who are curious about the world and motivated to better understand how it works. They are from very loving families, most of whom are low-income and come from different parts of the world including El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Bangladesh, and China.
Our classroom community includes children with learning disabilities, children learning English, and a wide range of backgrounds.
Learning in an inclusive environment with high expectations helps them build the empathy, collaborative, and academic skills they will need for future success.
My Project
There are countless ways in which iPads will be used to enhance student learning in my classroom. They will be used as assistive technology to helps struggling students read and record their understanding of the curriculum. Students will use them to learn how to code as well as demonstrate their learning through a variety of video apps that allow them to be creative and take charge of their own learning.
These iPads will continue to enhance student autonomy and creativity in our classroom community.
I believe students learn best when they are driving the learning and able to demonstrate their learning through multiple means.
