My Students

Teachers are encouraging students to be critical and creative thinkers, yet not giving them the tools to do so in this modern day. I want to be able to engage my students by using simple technology of video to increase engagement in learning while fostering creativity.

My kids are lower to middle class.

I have a very diverse group of students who are overall very kinesthetic learners. I believe in fostering their creativity in ways that will give them an advantage in their future. My students are eager to use technology in new and exciting ways.

My Project

I am requesting Flip cameras so that I can teach the technology and then have students do projects with the cameras. Presentations, evidence of their learning, projects, and snapshots for an online portfolio. I would also like for my students to learn how to best capture shots and create videos to help teach younger children.

My project is important, because with the one Flip camera I own, I do not have the resources for my students to truly use and learn the technology.

It is extremely frustrating teaching computers with only five in the classroom, one IPad for 28 students, and responders shared among a number of classrooms. I would love to teach an aspect of technology properly, and to use the tool to advance my students in the 21st century.
