I'm a speech-language pathologist working with students with communication disorders in grades K-5 as well as young adults with special needs. My students are a diverse group of kids and young adults with a variety of speech and language needs.
In spite of their communication challenges, my students clearly want to engage in learning and participate fully with their peers.
They each have specific goals to help them to do that. Together, we work on learning how to produce speech sounds, learn new vocabulary, develop social skills, improve literacy, grammar and sentence structure, and more!
My Project
My students are working so hard at home to keep progressing on their speech and language goals. It can be difficult to to find new engaging activities week after week during distance learning. A gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to purchase new online activities that target my students' specific goals and keep them having fun while working! The Chipper Chat sets were such a popular activity at my previous school, and I would love to have them at my current school to keep kids engaged once we return to a hybrid or in-person school model.
