Engaging Activities for Early Finishers!
Help me give my students art themed books (fiction and nonfiction) and modeling clay.
My wonderful school is located in an urban neighborhood that, while large, manages to have a family feel. My students come from all over the world, including Bangladesh, Mexico, China, Yemen, and Russia, to name just a few countries.
As an art teacher for the lower grades, I have the good luck to see my students in all their creative glory.
Art is a time for the children to unwind, practice important skills, and learn new ways to express themselves.
In our busy art classroom, students tend to be working on several different projects, or may be in different stages of completing artwork. Often students finish their art work with some time left in class, but not enough time to begin a new project. For this reason, having engaging art books for independent reading, and modeling clay for quick creations is essential! In addition, the art books will be read by me as jumping off points for art units and projects. The modeling clay will be used with the whole class as well for group activities. Our current books and clay have been "loved" so much, they are now in need of replacing.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
