My 1st grade classroom consists of 21 eager students.
Our school is in a rural community. Many of my students come from a low income background where they have limited access to reading materials. In 1st grade, reading is such a fundamental skill. It is vital that students have access to these materials to enhance their learning paths.
My students are very active, as children are. Providing my students with flexible seating, I will be able to capture their attention while providing a fun and engaging learning environment.
My Project
The leveled readers will help support and enhance my students' reading abilities. This will allow me to focus on their individual reading needs to help them grow. I not only want to provide my students with a strong background in reading but also help in developing their fluency and comprehension skills. The leveled readers will help me provide students with opportunities to practice reading skills in order to develop competence. The flexible seating options will allow my students to move while still actively engaging in classroom discussions and activities.
