Help me give my students mp3 players that they can use to listen to books during Daily 5. We would also love to have privacy shields that will help students focus and show what they know.
This next school year I will be teaching a first/second split class. The students at our school are so eager to learn and I am so excited to start off the year with engaging activities. Because it will be a split class, I will have very different ability levels. I know my students will work so hard to make sure they are learning every day!

In our classrooms, we collaborate and work together to make learning fun. Every student has special qualities and I am so eager to bring out the best in each of them! This next school year is going to be AMAZING!
My Project
By having mp3 players, my students will be able to listen to stories during their Daily 5 time. I will pre-record stories that students can then listen to independently as part of their Daily 5 rotations. It is important for students to listen to a fluent reader so they can become more fluent themselves. We would also benefit from privacy shields where students will be able to have their own space to focus when taking assessments. It will eliminate distractions around them.
Small group instruction is essential in the classroom so students need to be able to work independently during that time.
The rolling carts will help them do this because it will house all of their Daily 5 materials. Along with small group instruction is whole class instruction where we will need materials to up our engagement. The white board paddles will do just that by giving students an opportunity to show what they know while in a whole group format. By each student having their own white board, it allows them to stay engaged. I am so excited to use all these materials with my students!
