My students need exercise balls, inflatable chairs, lap desks, fidget bands, seat spots, and balance pods to encourage movement in our classroom and provide personalized seating options.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students make me proud every day. Many of them come from challenging backgrounds, but they do not let that get in the way of their success in the classroom. They are passionate and always persevere to reach their goals.
My classroom becomes a family.
The students constantly look out for one another and encourage each other to strive for their best. They are some of the most compassionate individuals I have ever met. I am always inspired by their willingness to help anyone in need.
My Project
My students have a wide range of learning abilities and needs. My students thrive through communication, and many have difficulty sitting still for long periods of time. They require constant movement to stay engaged in their learning. In standard desks, my students have difficulty sitting and focusing. They stand in their chairs, lean back, fidget in their desks, and are overall uncomfortable.
My students learn best through collaboration and movement.
The exercise balls and desk bands will help provide the movement necessary to help my students focus on their learning. Choice seating will provide them with a more relaxed environment, eliminating pain and the frustration of trying to stay still while they are learning and further eliminating distractions.
