My Kindergarten students are beginning their first year of school, in-person, this fall during a challenging time for our country. Like every 5 year old, they are excited for school and are coming in ready to learn, play, and make new friends. Learning through engagement in hands-on activities and cooperative play is going to thrill them, especially if much of it can be done in a more non-traditional setting, outdoors.
Our school is located in a small, rural, mid-west community, and our classroom overlooks large areas of outdoor spaces and fields.
My students will be utilizing those outdoor spaces as a classroom setting more this year than in the past.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will make outdoor classroom learning feasible for my students. They will use clipboards as writing surfaces outdoors, stylus' for writing on digital tablets outdoors, and storage containers for learning supplies and mask storage while outdoors.
There are dual purposes for all requested materials!
Not only will these materials make an outdoor classroom possible, they will also be sent home for distance learning, should that become necessary. They will make a great contribution to my students' home learning environments, and will assist in a more hands-on, typical learning style at home.
