Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Times are a-changing, and we need to make sure our students are well-prepared for what is to come. Student are required to use the 4 Cs of the 21st century: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.
We need resources in the classroom that allow for student exploration and creativity.
My students come from all different backgrounds and my entire school receives free breakfast and lunch. My classroom is sometimes the only place they get to eat , receive that one on one attention from an adult, and have the opportunity to really be a kid.
Your support will help transform my classroom into a place that encourages my students to think outside the box in a fun way. They can and they WILL be the change our world needs. Our efforts should encourage them in any way possible.
My Project
These materials will add a great opportunity for students to practice building, creating, engineering, planning, and designing creations from their imagination. STEAM resources can be expensive and many of these students will never have access to simple things like LEGO bricks.
I would like to have the resources available to spark their imagination that may one day lead to innovative designs to help make our future better.
The background of our students will not matter when they are all given the opportunities to explore with these amazing resources. With some guidance these same resources will help many students find the confidence they need to help them be successful in other areas of their lives as well. Through STEAM exploration students learn that failure is key to future success. Students are given the chance to incorporate all the 4C's of the 21st century- collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
