Help me give my students engaging math notebook materials and a daily reflection journal from Teachers Pay Teachers, as well as Scholastic News articles to keep them informed about current events.
I am a fifth-grade teacher at a wonderful school in North Dakota. I absolutely love spending my days with some amazing young people. They are so excited to learn each day, and I'm so thankful to be the one to teach them. My school showcases a diverse population with a high amount of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
My fifth-graders are energetic, spunky, incredibly intelligent, and thrive within our classroom!
Despite all of the obstacles this year, they are capable, kind, caring, funny, and respectful.
I greatly enjoy the intellectual conversations we have every day and the memories we have made as we grow and learn together.
My Project
Mathematics concepts get intense during 5th grade. I hope to give my students access to an interactive math notebook from Teachers Pay Teachers that will allow them to track their learning and refer back to learned concepts. A child believing they can "do math" is the factor that makes them successful or not, and I believe this resource will help them see that THEY CAN!
Now more than ever, our children need to practice self-reflection and self-care.
They should have an outlook for their future and create goals for themselves. The student planner from Teachers Pay Teachers showcases activities like a "self-love" vision board, as well as a "Fears turned to strength" activity.
Lastly, fifth graders are highly capable of understanding what is happening in our world, and I want them to have accurate information. Scholastic News subscriptions will keep them up to date on the current events happening and give them a real-world applications for social studies concepts.
