My Students

I teach computer science in a high school with a widely diverse student population. Right now, I am only reaching a small demographic of the school.

Through this professional development, I will learn how to recruit and put into place more diverse practices in the classroom and in recruitment.

All students in my school deserve to know about and learn computer science in order to give students skills they need upon graduation.

Computer science education will help all students become better problem solvers and gain valuable job-related skills.

My Project

The Tapestry Workshop will help me learn way to diversify my teaching and recruiting for computer science in my school. It will enable me to grow the program's enrollment while also increasing the level of output that my students are able to attain. As a past Tapestry Workshop participant, I know that I will learn a plethora of methods and obtain many resources that will help students understand what computer science is, why it is important for their future, and how students can benefit from learning it even if they do not want to code. Let's include everyone in the tech revolution.
