I need funds for a ticket to the Get Your Teach On Conference in San Diego and for lodging while I attend, so that I can learn new engagement strategies for my classroom!

My Students

I teach at a low-income, Title 1 school in rural Arizona. I teach second-grade and absolutely love it. My students come from extremely diverse backgrounds, and they love bringing their experiences and traditions into our classroom!

My second-graders this year are an extremely energetic bunch- even a simple worksheet can be seen as a new adventure to them!

They love getting to be hands on, and learning and thinking in new ways. My goal is to constantly be learning different ways to engage their busy little minds.

My Project

I will be attending the Get Your Teach On Conference, which gathers teachers from all over the country to give them new engagement strategies. My goal is to come back with new motivation and methods that I can use to help engage my students.

I would love to be able to take the second-grade curriculum and standards and help them come to life in my classroom!

The goal of this conference is to not only give me a "teacher pick-me-up" but to allow me to pick up research-based strategies that will support my teaching style. I hope to apply these strategies to my lesson plans and best practice in the classroom.
