Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a happy and busy mix of kindergarteners and first graders. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. However, this does not stop them! They are motivated, completely capable, and love learning.
They like to move, read, play and love lots of positive attention.
From the moment they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
I am requesting basic classroom supplies for our classroom, such clipboards, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, watercolors, manipulatives, crayons, glue sticks, and colored markers. We utilize community supplies in my classroom, so all of these materials and supplies already have a home. I also send home supplies when students request an item for homework. Students use clipboards to keep their work organized during flexible seating times, and these clipboards double as whiteboards to save space. All of the art and craft supplies will be used during our weekly art projects and for integrating creativity into our core subjects. The electronic doorbell will be a great way to build on our classroom routines and save time. Students will listen for the doorbell for clean up times and transitions during small groups.
All students deserve equitable access to quality materials provided at school.
With our recent budget cuts in our district, the money for these basic supplies just isn't there. Your donation will make a huge difference in our school year and place less stress on families and teachers.
My students are eager to learn and will be delighted with art materials, manipulatives for hands-on activities, and a well supplied classroom with organizational tools that work!
