My students need iPad Pros that would help engage them in group activities that will promote motivation and enthusiasm in learning and strengthening their English.
How can we expose English Language Learners to all they need to know in order to keep up with our 21st century world? Here at PS112, our students are ethnically-diverse and come from the corners of the globe each filled with new and different cultures that add to the classroom.
Lets help prepare ELLs to tackle the rapid advancement of the 21st century with new and inviting ways to learn new material and build relationships.
Our students come from low income backgrounds and our school provides them with free lunches. Many English Language Learners who are learning the language face a big challenge when it comes to semantics, technique, self esteem, and approval from their peers. I would like to create an environment that builds up their confidence, creates healthy relationships, and exposes them to the different uses of technology and what it can offer them through resources and apps that support their educational and developmental growth.
My Project
English is one of the most challenging languages to learn in the world. Students who come from different educational backgrounds can struggle even moreso with it when also having to assimilate into American culture and daily ways of life.
It would be great to create an environment where they can socialize with their peers and be engaged and motivated to learn a new language using iPads large enough for three to four students to use, ultimately providing a new medium for students to interact.
With new iPad Pros, students can use iPads as resources, listening centers, dictionaries, visual guides, and for educational apps to support their learning content and build on their developing vocabulary but also make it engaging and fun for nine to ten year olds.
