My students are energetic, inquisitive, creative, and love to read. They are discovering more about how they learn best as well as what interests them! They love hands-on, engaging projects that allow them to move about the classroom.
When my students are presented with choices about how they learn, their engagement grows immensely.
Their needs vary greatly, so using different learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating helps to make sure that the needs of all students are met. Each day is a new adventure in learning in our classroom!
My Project
These materials will have a direct impact on student learning. Students will have the ability to sit on balance balls while working, which gives them an ability to move and focus better while working instead of being stationary at a desk. Many students also enjoy sitting on the floor to complete reading and writing tasks, and the giant pillows support them in having a comfy area to complete their work.
When students have the opportunity to chose from a variety of seating, their engagement in learning increases.
I have seen the success of giving my students a few different options for seating, and I would like to give students additional choices to support the variety of learning needs (both academic needs, as well as students who seek movement often throughout the school day.) My students' academic, social, and emotional success will continue to flourish with more seating options in the classroom!
