This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 9th grade high school students who are creative, energetic, and motivated. The majority of my students are part of our school's early college program.

What I love about my students is how goal oriented they are.

They know what they want out of life, and they are eager to learn the skills they need to get them there.

My students have big dreams and I want to be able to provide them the education they deserve to help them attain those dreams.

My Project

This set of classroom novels will help my students get excited about reading. By this point in their education, many students are put off from reading. They complain all they have ever read in school are boring novels.

This project will give me the opportunity to present them with a novel in the hopes of sparking a love for reading.

Ender's Game is relatable to students at this age and provides excitement and adventure they crave from life.

Also this novel is from a series, so my hopes are that this will give them the push they need to become active readers because they will want to continue the story to finish the series.
