My Students
The characteristics that really make my students special are not only limited to their academic abilities but also includes their attitudes and motivation to succeed. My students come from all different walks of life, including various cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
As a teacher, I want to help my students make their dreams into realities and give them experiences that they might otherwise never receive.
When I was growing up, reading was my escape. I loved curling up with a good book, and I want to help my students find this same joy by giving them the opportunity to fall in love with reading.
My Project
I have designed a Project-Based Learning unit around animals, specifically endangered animals, for my middle school students. This project will require them to use their reading, writing, and technology skills to try to find ways to help solve or help with real-world issues of their choosing such as animal conservation or pet abandonment/adoption.
We need books to use as resources for this Project-Based Learning unit.
I have chosen fiction books that involve endangered animals, such as Hoot!, as well as nonfiction books with factual information, such as Hope for Animals and Their World.
We also need a document camera so that they can display and model their projects for other students and teachers.
