Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative and curious 4 and 5 year olds. They love hands-on activities that are engaging and that allow them to think and find solutions. They come to school each day ready to experience new adventures in order to grow both personally and academically.
We are a multi-cultural pre-K inclusion classroom.
Our families are hard working, low income to middle class citizens, who send their precious children to our school. Our school is a public school in NJ that serves approximately four hundred fifty 4 and 5 year old students.
My Project
Our school year has been interrupted due to the Covid-19 virus. My students have been working very hard in school and now at home through virtual/remote learning. The students have transitioned and adapted to new learning schedules at home. They have been learning all of the basic and social emotional skills that is needed to ensure a successful first year in Kindergarten.
We are looking forward for an opportunity to finish our school year in our classroom.
Therefore, this project is important to me and the students. It will help finalize the year with an amazing celebration of growing and learning in Pre-K. The beach balls, sand pails, duffle bags, magnetic draw boards and party supplies will help to bring joy and smiles on my students' faces.
