My students need an encouraging token to read over the summer- skipping the 'summer-slide'. Book bags promote reading and taking a book with them wherever they go!
My students are so amazing. Coming from a Title I school we don't always have access to the tools we need. Our diverse population and students with varying needs always keep my teaching strategies fresh and ever-changing. Many students within my classroom have ADHD, an IEP, or an SST.
Students benefit from a variety of teaching strategies.
In my classroom I offer a chance for students to learn in small groups, work with peers, and utilize technology! My students are so caring and love working together on tools that help them learn and create deeper understanding of curriculum.
My Project
Students will receive a personalized reading bag as an end of the year gift. They have achieved so much in this school year and have a desire to finish the year 'in style'. With their creative minds, they will create and 'cut' (using our classroom Cricut) their own summer book bag. Students will also have more seating options, thanks to the stools (which will be beneficial for future students).
Along with a scholastic book of their choice, they will be heading to summer with a personalized book bag to encourage and promote reading when school is out.
Students will design their own bag and let their crafty-side show! In hopes of creating life-long readers, students will be jazzed about their new bags and be excited to fill them with a variety of books to take them on amazing 'journeys' over the summer.
