My classroom consists of 20 ambitious first graders. They are coming to me from a diversified community. We are a Title I school with many students coming from underprivileged households. This should not define them but it does affect them. School is a safe and stable place to learn and grow.
First grade is such a fun grade to teach!
The students are so sweet and have such a passion for learning. I will do whatever I can to help foster this learning.
My Project
My students need flexible seating options to help them focus and learn. So many students fall behind or have trouble learning due to a lack of focus.
The wobble stools would provide students an outlet for motion while they continue to do their work at their table spots.
Having flexible seating would also allow my students to move safely in one spot without disrupting other students around them.
I was gifted a wobble stool a couple years ago and I've noticed that the student that is using the stool is usually one of the most productive students during work time. I would love to offer this flexibility to more than one student a day.
