My Students

I have an amazing group of kindergarten kiddos this year! My class consists of three boys and nine girls! They come to school every day with smiles on their faces and eager to learn! They love to learn, especially how to read, write, and do math! All of my students learn best by hands-on learning and being able to move freely about the classroom.

I teach in a Title I school in Wyoming, about 45 minutes east of South Dakota.

A majority of my students come from low income families, so it is so important to give them a great educational experience when they come to school!

I am blessed to work in the district that I am in. Seeing my kiddos come to school each day ready to take on any challenges is wonderful. It is also so rewarding to see them be successful! In my classroom, we do lots of activities that involve movement. I also allow my students to sit around the room in different types of seating so they are comfortable while learning.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will add to our cozy reading/listening area! Students are just beginning to read in kindergarten, so giving them many different options to do so is vital!

By providing my class with books on CDs, they will be able to listen to the story while following along in the actual book.

This is ideal for students who have learning disabilities, students who still struggle with decoding words, and for students who need that extra little push in the right direction!

I strive to encourage my students to read every single day! It is so important!
