Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As students with a wide range of disabilities, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for ways to keep them engaged in reading through fun and meaningful activities.
The students in my classroom are students who have difficulty reading and/or live with a learning disability.
My goal is to provide my students with the assistance they need in order to be successful readers in a general education classroom setting.
My Project
My students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, writing, and sight words during their Response to Intervention (RTI) time. Our students will use these materials to reinforce their learning of sounds and words.
Research has found that learning games and activities play a vital role on students’ motivation and engagement.
By playing these games, students may be able to understand a new concept or idea, take on a different perspective, or experiment with different options or variables. While playing these games, my students will develop a variety of connections with the content and form positive memories of learning!
