Encouraging Kids to Draw Daily

My students need drawing pencils, blenders, rulers, rubbing plates, compasses, colored pencils and sharpies to continue to explore the art of drawing.

My Students

I want teach and give students the opportunity to express their thoughts daily through drawing. So many kids are turning to technology to relax and express themselves. Students need to continue to draw and create in a daily journal.

Drawing has always been a tool for expressing yourself, documenting events in your life and creating dreams that words can't express.

These students want to be taught and challenged on a daily basis. They are creative and extremely talented. Many are not able to purchase supplies for themselves and this is why I am writing this grant. Art is important to me and so many kids. To some, this is the only class they look forward to attending each day. They always want to know what they have to look forward to. I hope to supply them with the materials needed for multiple projects in the future.

My Project

I simply want to supply my students with drawing materials that they can use daily in class. I want them to journal every day. My class is their outlet and I never want them to feel as though they can't afford to continue to express themselves. Most say they are able to explore their most inner feelings, as well as, view things in a way they never thought of before. I want their experience in my class to be endless and know their are so many people that still support the arts.

The sense of pride that I have witnessed with the kids is so overwhelming.

Knowing that I am making a difference in developing their self-esteem for the future is my reward. Help me continue to give students the opportunity to express themselves with the proper art supplies needed. Help me make a difference in their lives.
