My class consists of 17 inquisitive, thoughtful 7 and 8 year olds who work hard to go about the business of learning. They tackle new challenges all the time, and continue to grow daily.
We work hard during the year to develop our personal identities and think about the way that we interact with the world around us.
These second graders are readers, writers, scientists, and mathematicians, as well as critical thinkers and world changers. Their interest and learning styles vary greatly from student to student, and I work hard to meet all of their needs. I love working with them and seeing them grow and blossom, ready to move on to bigger and better things at the end of each year.
My Project
This collection of books will either allow my students to see themselves reflected, or help them to better understand folks who are different from them. I will use these texts as read alouds in my classroom, and I will facilitate discussions and activities to help them deepen their understanding of the texts.
By donating to this project, you will help promote empathy and understanding in a generation of future leaders.
These books will help my students become informed, thoughtful citizens. You will also help instill a love of reading in my students for years to come, as these texts will be used year after year.
