My students are smart, creative, kind, and happy. My students are in that unique stage between Elementary and Middle School. They are trying to figure out what direction their lives are headed in at the same time as finding their own voice in the large and loud world.
My favorite thing about our students is how strongly their compassion and desire to learn shine through every day.
We are a largely middle-class school and our rigorous curriculum standards demand an unrelenting pace and focus from our students every single day. We have high expectations and, to their credit, our students rise to meet those every single day!
My Project
I was able to explore the If/Then Collection. I was amazed and excited to use this resource in my classroom. I would like to use the Explorers videos to connect with the subsystems of the Earth and help my students view the world in a new way. Then use arts and crafts supplies to help them visualize their ideas. By using the Stem in the Stadium as well they can connect it with their individual passions as well.
Students have unlimited potential, all we have to do is help them become aware of their own potential.
The If/Then Collection can help me do just this. With the National Geographic, the Mission Unstoppable and Diversity Journeys our class will be able to discover the world around them. Along with the needs of our world and alongside the book "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" my students will start to realize ways they can change and enhance the world they live in.
