My students need hands-on science resources, such as microscope kits, magnifiers, test tubes, and more. My students learn more when lessons are interactive, hands-on, and engaging. This equipment will help me incorporate more experiments in class to help encourage exploration!
I teach at a Title I school in a rural part of East Texas. Forty individual students come into my classroom each day excited and ready to learn more about math and science. They are all on different levels of instruction. I strive for my students to be actively engaged in all of our lessons. We relate everything we do to real-world situations and problems. This helps to make both math and science relevant to them and their world.
My students thrive on wonder and exploration.
Having them think outside the box is never too much of a challenge. The students in my class work best and learn when they are working toward a purpose or specific challenge. Since I am a first year teacher, I am looking for hands on resources to help my classroom understand Science!
My Project
This lab equipment sets our students up for a multitude of hands on science experiments. I love seeing the faces of my students when they are challenged to openly explore and research during science. I am asking for specific tools that I know will be helpful in teaching science.
With these tools, I can set up exploration stations where students will be able to spend more time with actual lab equipment.
Not only will you be helping my students but the two other science teachers in my grade level. This will provide each of our classrooms to be fully loaded for science experiments. The specific things I am asking for in this list are: microscopes, prepared slides, magnifying glasses, tweezers, measuring cups, test tubes, balance scales, cylinder beakers, magnet sets, weight scales, and then a few magnetic diagram sets for presentations and lessons.
I want my students to believe they are scientists, and these tools will help me do just that!
