My students need a lined writing surface to form their handwriting, an organization station to keep their work in order, and a bookbinding machine to put it all together!

J.K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, Shel Silverstein. They all got their start somewhere. Help make writing happen in the classroom with the inspiration (a world globe), the means (writing magnet), the organization, and the ability to make a finished product!
My twenty-three lively first graders are all very energetic learners.
They attend a suburban school with a growing population. Every day, they enthusiastically come to my door, ready to learn and grow. We are very fortunate to have a school to come to every day that supports our basic needs.
This is the age where their enthusiasm for learning soars to invincible heights or it gets a lackluster start. We have had a great beginning to the year, and I want to let it continue by enabling them to create finished writing projects that go above and beyond our four walls. Towards the end of the year, I would like every student to make a book of their own. With the globe, we can talk about cultures and places beyond our community. On a larger, reusable writing surface, we can brainstorm, create, and edit shared writing. If an organization system is in place, we can keep track of our work and our progress and build self responsibility. The icing on the cake is truly the ability for each child to take home a bound copy of his or her own book.
Please, help us to make this exciting project happen.
If we ignite the spark for their reading, writing, and learning, they will have the tools and skills to be successful in any thing they choose to do. From myself, and my 23 friends in room 16, we hope you will choose to support our project!
