Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Enthusiastic, hard working students. They are budding scientists, writers, readers, and mathematicians. They are under-equipped but overachieving.
"My school is a TK-8 school in the heart of East Oakland, opened after a design team of educators, parents, and community members spent a year re-envisioning the school’s mission.
Our current students have significant social and emotional needs, stemming from indirect and direct trauma they have experienced."
My room is filled with most enthusiastic students will ever meet. We do small group instruction to offer a more personalized learning experience for the students.
Our student population is 82% Latino and 15% African American and a growing number of students from Southeast Asian and the Middle East. 98% of our students identify as low income
