This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are an incredibly diverse and resilient group, each with their own unique story. Among them are two remarkable students, refugees from Guatemala, who have shown an extraordinary eagerness to learn and integrate. Despite financial constraints, their determination to master the English language is inspiring.

I'm seeking two full volumes of ESL books specifically designed for teaching English.

These resources will offer comprehensive guidance and structured learning, enabling these students and their peers to build strong language foundations. These books will be particularly beneficial for our Guatemalan students, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in a new language environment.

Additionally, I'm requesting speakers for our classroom. These will be crucial for listening activities, helping all students improve their comprehension and pronunciation skills. Through these activities, they'll gain confidence in understanding and participating in English conversations, which is essential for their academic and social integration.

My goal is to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and capable of reaching their full potential. By providing these specific resources, we can make a significant difference in their language learning journey, paving the way for their future success.

What makes my students special is their resilience, diversity, and unwavering spirit to overcome challenges. Each day, they remind me of the power of education to change lives, and I am committed to supporting them every step of the way.
