In our district, the students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with more than 60% of our students receiving free or reduced rate lunch. We are in a very small district that is consolidated to incorporate several surrounding communities in the rural area.
My students come to school from various backgrounds and are ready to learn, but they come each day with several needs, including a need for constant movement while they learn.
My students never give up on themselves or quit trying and are some of the hardest working students I have ever met.
In my classroom, my students can struggle with focus and have a need for movement. This movement should not hinder their learning. I want students to be able to learn and meet their needs at the same time.
These flexible seating options will give my students a sense of ownership in their learning by making choices of what they use for seating.
The ball chairs and floor chairs will open the opportunities of my classroom and allow students to work independently or cooperatively.
My students will greatly benefit from having seating options. This will minimize behaviors and allow for more instructional time, so students can grow and learn.
