My STEM classroom is a place where creativity takes center stage. It's my goal to empower each and every one of my students while exploring the variety of fields and exciting opportunities surrounding STEM.
Students really shine when they are given choice in their learning.
That is why all of the STEM projects I create focus on student voice and choice. From this, students take ownership of their learning and see not only real-world applications, but become inspired to learn and explore more!
My Project
The power of 3D printing in education offers endless possibilities and adding these to my classroom will allow more students access to 3D printing.
This sustainable resource is something that will impact students for years!
I envision students designing and printing prototypes for various class projects including hydroponics, assistive devices, innovative school store products, and much more. Outside of STEM class, I want to create a resource for students to apply the concept of 3D printing into cross-curricular projects, whether it's a Math concept, Social Studies project, Science model, English connection, or more!
What I love about 3D printing is that students get to see the physical results of their learning and the real world application of the technology. The rapid prototyping allows students to print, and if they make mistakes, they are able to reflect, fix, and re-print!
