Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school where most students receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students are students of color and/or are socioeconomically disadvantaged. They live in a community that has been impacted by violence.
Yet my students show up to school to learn and achieve.
My students have the hope and strength to succeed, in spite of hardship. I want to provide them with quality instructional material that will aid them in their pursuit of success.
My Project
A new printer will equip the classroom so that students can apply-and grow-their understanding of mathematics better than they could with grey pencil marks on black-and-white worksheets*. The additional photo printer would match students' camera abilities and augment classroom culture. These printers will augment students' tablet computers so that...
students will be able to create work that they will want to share.
Students will not only be able to create pictures, posters, and other visuals on their devices, but will also be able to see these digital creations displayed around their physical classroom.
*Most teachers only have access to black-and-white printers at my school.
