This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As an educator, I am eager to stay current on best practices for Multilingual Learners. I am a lifelong learner that can never obtain enough knowledge. I would love to add more developed pedagogical practices that are geared for ESL/ENL teachers. I have been lucky enough to have participated in an ElevatED online workshop this school year. I have witnessed this company teach highly engaging workshops to support ENL teachers in the field. This company deeply cares about the success of multilingualism. Their virtual workshops teach me how students can have better access to grade-level content. During the virtual workshops I have learned how to adjust and adapt content for my students. If I am fully funded for this project, I will be able to work virtually with a coach to better support my practice.

As a first year teacher, I would love to absorb all the knowledge the ElevatED company can teach.

I want to ensure that our multilingual learners can understand complex concepts as their English speaking peers with the right scaffolding and modifications. If I receive funding for the personalized coaching I can use the skills and knowledge to provide specific and individualized service to my students to help them close any learning gaps they might face.

My training will help my ELL students with breaking up new concepts and providing better scaffolding strategies for my students. This will make learning English less intimidating and reduce frustration. My students will feel more engaged and I will create more opportunities for students to engage in discussions during class instruction. Students will also have customized graphic organizer that they can use as a tool while learning English.
