This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are awesome and eager to learn! We are a small charter school and don't have many of the resources that some of the bigger districts have. They are students ready to learn and expand their knowledge, however, we, the teachers, need the necessary resources to support them. The key to their success is our preparation and we know with that preparation we can effectively prepare lesson plans that will aid them in their goal, as well as ours, for them to be successful now, and in the future.

My Project

At this conference, I will gain the tools and knowledge necessary to successfully teach my computer science class in the upcoming school year. Computer science is new in our school, but something that I am very passionate about the students learning.

This conference will allow me to learn more in-depth skills and materials to make the class purposeful.

I hope to take the information learned back to the classroom and be able to teach meaningful material that I would otherwise not have. Additionally, this conference will provide me support throughout the school year as I encounter hiccups along the way. I am excited to see my growth of knowledge when it comes to computer science, the material, and lesson planning.
