Our school is in a suburb of El Cajon in Southern CA. We have a diverse group of students and are a Title I school with 100% of our students receiving free reduced-price lunches. We are a TK-8th grade public school with a performing arts emphasis in the Cajon Valley Union School District. We provide an inclusive learning environment that inspires students to develop talents and grow in social, emotional, and academic excellence through the arts. Our vision is to create and inspire dynamic thinkers through the arts. I teach 6th grade English Language Arts to approximately 90 students who rotate to my classroom throughout the day. I integrate the arts into ELA instruction; and I also teach dance, PE, Social-Emotional learning, performing, and visual arts.
My Project
Students will get activated, motivated, and energized with new team sports and playground equipment to use at school with their peers. This equipment will allow students to create healthy habits at school by having a variety of sports to explore and activities to play. From trying new games and working as a team, to practicing good sportsmanship and staying fit, the benefits of this equipment for students are endless! My 6th-grade students enjoy playing soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, and wall ball at school, and they will greatly benefit from equipment that is readily available when they have access to the field.
