Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My high school has a STEAM magnet, in which interested students build an understanding and appreciation of careers in Science, Technology, Engineering Arts, and Mathematics. I have recently begun to rebuild the school's long-neglected Engineering program. In my class, students use the Engineering Design Process to develop their own solutions to complex problems. As part of the process, they develop digital 3D models using professional quality software.
This project will empower students to create physical models of their digital designs.
Currently, they build models from paper, cardboard, and other inferior materials. With access to a 3D printer, students will be able to create accurate working models of many different products. Students on my after-school Robotics team will also be able to use the 3D printer to achieve their creative visions.
