Empower Brilliant Students With Instructional Technology
My students need a document camera, printer, and projector to use with a laptop to develop their understanding of complex texts. My students know they are competing with their peers for college acceptance letters and opportunity.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach college and career ready literacy skills to an amazing group of sixth graders in the District of Columbia. My students are diverse, resilient, and caring. I am privileged to be their teacher.
All of my students are focused on obtaining the excellent education that they deserve.
In our classroom, we take risks and do not give excuses. All of my students are advocates. All of my students are leaders and what makes my students truly special is their empathy and creativity.
We are a community that works hard, does not give up on each other, and that reminds each other why this work is important each and everyday.
My Project
All of these materials will make a difference in student learning because they will connect students to the real world and allow them to access information easily while grappling with new content.
The document camera will allow our classroom to take individual assignments and turn them into class assignments, creating more discussion, interaction, and engagement.
The projector will allow diverse learners to engage with new material and review content more easily. The printer and laptop will allow students to have individualized assignments and access to materials. The laminator will allow units to come alive in the classroom, allowing students to make connections and further their thinking!
